Opportunity for Post-Doc Scholars

The Center for Revitalizing American Institutions (RAI) at the Hoover Institution, Stanford University seeks a postdoctoral fellow for assistance and collaboration on research involving civic education, democratic citizenship, and public opinion. Research responsibilities may encompass data analysis, survey design and analysis, and collaboration on manuscripts, with an emphasis on supporting the Hoover Institution’s Civic Profile project.
Additionally, the position will afford opportunities to engage with Hoover Institution fellows, research teams at Stanford University and other universities, and educators across the national civic education ecosystem. The term would be up to one year, with the possibility of extension.
Strong candidates will have their PhD completed in a relevant field, such as political science, education, sociology, psychology, communications, data science, or public policy, prior to the start of the appointment. Other beneficial qualifications include prior experience with survey research related to American politics, public opinion, psychometric assessments or evaluation, or civic education; excellent programming skills; experience in survey design and quantitative analysis; and excellent written and verbal communication skills.
This is a fully remote position. The successful candidate may work from any location but must be consistently available for collaboration and meetings during core Pacific Time business hours. Accommodations will be made for candidates preferring hybrid or in-person work.
Term Length: One year with possibility of renewal.

Compensation will be commensurate with experience. Stanford University provides pay ranges representing its good faith estimate of what the university reasonably expects to pay for a position. The pay offered to a selected candidate will be determined based on factors such as (but not limited to) the scope and responsibilities of the position, the qualifications of the selected candidate, departmental budget availability, internal equity, geographic location, and external market pay for comparable jobs.
