Overview Voter Choice Arizona, a statewide non-profit organization that advocates for Ranked Choice Voting (RCV), is looking for a Grassroots Organizer based in Arizona to work on the front lines of a transformative campaign to improve Arizona’s voting processes. This Organizer will be a part of the team to win RCV in Arizona. Working hand-in-hand with our volunteer leaders, they will drive volunteer engagement to achieve goals for growing the supporter base, gaining endorsements, and grassroots fundraising. Our dual approach includes RCV advocacy in selected municipalities in preparation for a statewide enactment campaign. Responsibilities ● Executive and Operations: Participate as a member of the Executive team. Develop movement-building plans with leadership including quantitative benchmarks, goals, deliverables, etc. Work with all of the volunteer team leaders. ● Fundraising: Perform online targeting and list segmentation for ads. Manage advertising on social media and other channels as needed. Organize House Party fundraisers - on Zoom and in person. Run phonebanks to dial for dollars or other purposes. Cultivate relationships with larger potential donors. Apply for grants. Craft newsletters to raise funds. ● Field: Work closely with the state Outreach team to establish operational priorities and goals for voter outreach and education. Manage, develop and support the field team to grow the volunteer and donor base. Contribute to the Volunteer Onboarding process. ● Volunteer Management: Advise volunteer leaders in relationship, coalition, and organizational building tactics and strategies. Implement systems for optimizing volunteer engagement and retention.
Qualifications ● Experience: 1-6+ years campaign / organizing experience. Experience being Campaign Manager for at least one ballot question or candidate in Arizona & multiple campaign cycles, preferred. Experience boosting diversity in organizations. Relationship management experience. Lobbying / advocacy experience for election reform. Excellent copywriting skills. Experience with metrics-based capacity growth. Excellent public speaking and meeting facilitation skills. Prior grassroots fundraising experience. Competence in NationBuilder, CallHub, Slack, EveryAction/ VAN. Proficiency in Spanish is a plus. ● Goal Setting/Achievement: Show planned/ achieved goals and tracked metrics/accomplishments in resume. ● Characteristics: Understanding of Arizona political landscape, a passion for election reform and a commitment to continued learning. Drive, vision, obsessive attention to detail, proven leadership, an eagerness to receive feedback and course-correction, adherence to an ethos of non-partisan public relations and messaging. Able to engage with individuals from a broad spectrum of political views, and ability to show restraint on expressing personal partisan opinions. Exceptional people skills and emotional intelligence. ● Travel: This hybrid position must be available to travel up to 50% of paid time within AZ to assist local volunteers on an in-person basis, as public health conditions allow. ● Schedule: This is a full-time role that regularly requires availability on weeknights and weekends to accommodate volunteer schedules.
