The Unitarian Universalist Association (UUA) encompasses 1,000+ congregations in the United States, Canada, and overseas. Congregations are democratic in polity and operation; they govern themselves. They unite in the Association to provide services that individual congregations cannot provide for themselves. Unitarian Universalism is a liberal religion that has no creed. It affirms the worth of human beings, advocates freedom of belief and the search for advancing truth, and tries to provide a warm, open, supportive community for people who believe that ethical living is the supreme witness of religion. The Side With Love Organizing Strategy Team is one vehicle for translating UU Principles into action. The OST's role is to drive strategy, strengthen the capacity of Unitarian Universalists to organize for justice, and to mobilize power and people for liberation. The team’s approach recognizes that there are many issues and partnerships that individual Unitarian Universalist and UU congregations are invested in, while also modeling focus on four key intersectional priorities to strategically build power for creating justice at this time. * Electoral justice, inclusive of voting and voting rights, democracy and election year engagement. * Climate justice, inclusive of indigenous sovereignty and climate resilience * Anti-criminalization, inclusive of racial justice and immigrant justice and the criminalization of poverty * LGBTQ and gender justice, inclusive of LGTBQ equity and reproductive justice
