Unify America is looking for a savvy, get-things-done Marketing Manager to help grow our Civic Gym program in the higher education space. This role is perfect for someone who loves turning strategy into execution: building smart campaigns, coordinating across teams, and delivering clean, persuasive content that moves the needle.

About Unify America

Founded in 2020, Unify America is a nonpartisan, 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization on a mission to replace political fighting with collaborative problem solving.

Delivering evidence-based, interactive, and impactful experiences that encourage constructive conversations across political ideologies and backgrounds, we bring Americans together to build and exercise their civic muscles.

About the Civic Gym

Unify America’s Civic Gym is the nation’s only intercollegiate platform of its kind—an innovative, scalable initiative that equips college students with civic and leadership skills through real-world, virtual experiences. The Civic Gym is powered by two national, virtual dialogue programs—the Unify Challenge and the Deep Dive—which foster cross-partisan conversations, bridge divides, and build essential civic preparedness.

Since 2021, our Civic Gym platform has had a significant impact on hundreds of campuses of all shapes and sizes, including two-year, four-year, private, public, military, HBCUs, and faith-based institutions. In just four years, our programming has reached 30,000+ students across 48 states. This year, for the first time, we are engaging educational institutions through a paid subscription model, which will provide us with the resources to sustain and scale the program much more quickly.

Position Overview

As our presence in higher education expands, we are seeking a Marketing Manager who can effectively translate our strategic vision into clear, actionable communications. This role involves developing high-quality materials that support program adoption and make Civic Gym offerings visible and compelling. It is a hands-on position focused on execution, ideal for a sharp operator who can manage details while maintaining a clear view of the big picture. The Marketing Manager will collaborate closely with the Partnerships and Engagement teams to create and evolve outreach content, help articulate our value to higher education stakeholders, and enable broader adoption of our programs.

Responsibilities

  • Plan and manage marketing efforts that reach higher education leaders, faculty, staff, and students across email, web, and other channels

  • Build and maintain core marketing assets, including one-pagers, slide decks, posters, and case studies, and coordinate with designers and developers to produce landing pages and other digital materials.

  • Monitor performance and improve efforts using analytics, audience segmentation, and direct feedback from educators

  • Own timelines and follow-through to ensure marketing tasks, launches, and communications happen on time and with clarity.

  • Help sustain engagement by coordinating timely updates, reminders, and materials tied to the academic calendar.

  • Keep systems organized and running, manage shared files, document processes, support smooth handoffs between teams, and use HubSpot to run and analyze campaigns

What We’re Looking For

  • 3–6 years of experience in marketing, communications, or digital campaigns

  • Detail-oriented, organized, and proactive – you take pride in being the person who makes things happen

  • Outstanding writing, proofreading, and content formatting skills

  • Confidence with tools like Google Workspace, Canva, Slack, and email platforms (Mailchimp, HubSpot, etc.)

  • Comfortable working in a remote, collaborative, feedback-rich culture

  • Ideally, experience in higher education, civic engagement, or subscription-based program models

Compensation and Benefits

Salary: $70,000–$100,000 based on relevant experience and demonstrated success in marketing efforts that create revenue-generating pipelines and drive retention.

We work remotely, and we welcome candidates from anywhere within the United States. In fact, we value having a team from different areas of the country.

Benefits you can expect:

  • Excellent 401k Matching

  • Medical, Dental, and Vision Insurance

  • Self-managed “unlimited” PTO policy

  • Health and wellness reimbursement

  • Internet and phone reimbursement

  • A strong and supportive work culture made up of high performers. Unify America has a daily emphasis on building a positive work environment and recognizing the great work of our team. Our founder’s previous start-ups have won awards for their positive culture.

How to Apply

Application materials should include the following in one, combined PDF:

  • Cover letter

    • In addition to telling us why you’re a good fit for this role, please also answer this question:

Unify America’s mission involves bridging divides across political and cultural differences. Our marketing materials need to be very strategically party/ideology neutral - which means that you’ll have to be very good at examining your own political biases and making sure your word choices aren’t influenced by them. Please let us know how easily you think you could adopt an ideologically neutral writing style.

  • Resume

Unify America is committed to diversity, equity, and inclusion at all levels of the organization in all of its forms. This includes a commitment to having a team filled with people at every point on the political spectrum.
