Are you looking for a paid summer experience packed with new experiences, new people and perspectives, and purpose? Join the Unify America team as a Contract Canvasser in Montrose, Colorado! 

What is Unify America?

Unify America is a nonpartisan nonprofit on a mission to replace political fighting with problem solving. We are seeking Contract Canvassers who will join our team to help us engage members of the Montrose community, help us advance our mission to find solutions to our nation’s ills, and save our democracy.

Why is canvassing so important?

Unify America’s Engagement team has created a canvassing plan that does one thing: meet folks where they are, educate them on our upcoming community events, and tell them about our interactive deliberation sessions that they can join! That’s where you come in. 

What will you be doing?

  • Knocking on doors

  • Canvassing popular, high-traffic areas in Montrose, CO

  • Providing event support

  • Phonebanking

This position is an entry-level position. No prior experience with canvassing is required for this position. We welcome all employment backgrounds and skill sets!

Are there specific qualifications?

  • Reliable transportation

  • Great communication skills

  • Ability to walk and stand for long periods of time outside during summer and fall months

  • High comfort level with meeting new people

  • Reliable phone service

  • Flexible Availability, including evenings and weekends

  • A deep commitment to the mission of Unify America

  • Spanish is a plus, but not required

Where is work?

Work for this position will be done throughout the city and county of Montrose. Reliable transportation is required. 

What is the compensation?

Contract Canvassers will be compensated at a rate of $20 an hr. for 10 to 15 hrs per week. We will also provide one $15 gasoline voucher per week!
