PARTNERSHIPS MANAGER

CONTRACT POSITION

Overview

Power the Polls is a first-of-its-kind initiative to recruit poll workers to ensure safe, fair elections for all voters. In 2020, America faced a record shortage of poll workers due to the coronavirus pandemic — and Power the Polls helped recruit over 700,000 people to help meet that challenge.

In 2022, Power the Polls relaunched its campaign to meet targeted poll worker needs in nearly 600 priority jurisdictions and mobilized over 265,000 potential poll workers — 70% of whom were recruited through our diverse coalition of corporate and nonprofit partners. Now, the work is already underway for our most significant year yet in 2024.

Power the Polls is hiring Partnerships Manager to manage our nonprofit partnerships for the 2024 cycle. This person is a proven coalition builder and mobilizer, highly organized, and excited to build and expand the cross-partisan Power the Polls coalition this year. This role will report to the Power the Polls National Program Manager, who reports to the Project Director of the Civic Responsibility Project, where Power the Polls is fiscally sponsored. This contract role will begin in June 2024 and last through November 2024, with June & July as the busiest months.

Scope of Work

  • Coordinate with partners to mobilize for key days of action for poll worker recruitment including:
    • National Poll Worker Recruitment Day (August 1, 2024)
    • National Voter Registration Day (September 17, 2024)
    • National Voter Education Week (Oct 2024)
    • Vote Early Day (Oct 2024)
    • Election Hero Day (Nov 4, 2024)
    • Election Day (Nov 5, 2024)
  • Identify and develop relationships with new partners to expand Power the Polls’ coalition, with a focus on nonpartisan civic engagement groups and groups working with youth and/or bilingual communities (ongoing)
  • Work with Power the Polls national program manager and earned media team to identify opportunities for positive media coverage
  • Act as point of contact for nonprofit partners, providing support as needed for partner activations; coordinate with other members of partnerships teams (including corporate partnerships) to identify and create materials to support partner poll worker recruitment
  • Utilize existing partner recruitment, onboarding, and engagement process and tracking systems, with a strong attention to detail
  • Coordinate with email program manager and election administrator outreach manager for partner email communications and messaging around poll worker recruitment activations
  • Identify data & tech needs that are helpful for partners and work with the national program manager and tech team to create reasonable solutions
  • Collaborate to set clear expectations with partner groups and provide regular updates and reporting to partner groups, including through partner update emails and calls
