About LWVUS:
The League of Women Voters of the United States (LWVUS, the League) is a nonpartisan political organization that has fought for more than 100 years to improve American systems of government and impact public policies through citizen education, advocacy, and litigation. The enduring vitality and resonance of the League as a trusted force for change and good government comes from its unique decentralized structure: a national organization with strong partnerships at the grassroots level with more than 700 state and local Leagues across the country including the District of Columbia. At the national level, League activities are coordinated and staffed by two distinct but complementary organizations: The League of Women Voters of the United States (LWVUS) and the League of Women Voters Education Fund (LWVEF).

POSITION SUMMARY

The Organizing team is looking for a creative and dynamic digital field organizer to help us expand, deepen, and strengthen our digital relational organizing infrastructure. This person will support the development and implementation of online-to-offline organizing and campaign strategies, onboard and provide technical support on our relational organizing platform – League in Action, strategize and support a cohort of states for specific campaigns, and build people power at all levels to advance and secure transformational wins on voting rights and elections to create a more equitable, accessible, and participatory democracy for all.

This position reports to the National Senior Organizing Manager.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Manage the recruitment, onboarding, and technical support to Leagues using the digital relational organizing platform, League in Action.
  • Support the expansion of online-to-offline organizing and campaign strategies to grow LWV’s membership, power, and engagement with communities, particularly the New American Majority and voters in rural communities.
  • Provide campaign and strategy support using League In Action to a cohort of States assigned
  • Build strong, trusted, and authentic relationships with League leaders and League In Action admins.
  • Identify and develop strong relationships and regular communication with vendors, organizations, allies, coalitions, and community leaders.
  • Work across departments to ensure that digital organizing goals complement other campaign and organizational goals, including regional organizers, Comms, Advocacy and Litigation, Mission Impact, and External Affairs, among others.
  • Recruit, train, and manage volunteers at scale on relational organizing best practices and to advance digital organizing and campaign goals.
  • Organize online supporters to take digital and offline actions to push campaigns forward and to stay engaged with organizing programs through other mediums.
  • Develop organizing and campaign materials, scripts, toolkits, templates, graphics, and action alerts, using popular education methodologies.
  • Assist in working with and training staff on best relational organizing practices and tactics.
  • During rapid response moments, assist in DC rallies, mobilizations, and days of action.
  • Provide regular data and narrative reports on progress (metrics, efforts and impact).
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES REQUIRED:

  • Minimum of 3-years experience in community, labor, issue or political organizing, campaigns, or leadership development, including online-to-offline strategies.
  • Understand organizing, movement-building, and coalition-building principles.
  • Ability to develop trainings and materials to train-the-trainers and train at scale.
  • Experience implementing, monitoring, and assessing campaign and/or field plans.
  • Ability to engage diverse communities in an authentic way.
  • Familiarity with voting rights, election reform, electoral college, and voter engagement is preferred.
  • Previous campaign experience a plus.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills, strong attention to detail, and excellent people skills.
  • Experience working with Office 365, Salsa-Engage, Salesforce, OutreachCircle (or something similar), and VAN is a plus.
  • Travel is required, driver’s license is a plus.

LOCATION

The League of Women Voters US is based in Washington, DC. This is a hybrid position based in Washington, DC.

SALARY & BENEFITS

The salary range for this position is $65,000. We have a generous benefits package that includes 95 percent employer-sponsored health insurance, dental and vision insurance, paid holidays, vacation days, sick days, pre-tax transit benefits, and the opportunity to contribute to a 401(K) plan.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

The person in this position is primarily sedentary and needs to occasionally move about inside the office to access file cabinets, office machinery. The person must also be available to travel and walk longer distances to offices and events. Constantly operates a computer and other office productivity machinery, such as a calculator, copy machine, computer, and computer printer.
