Development (Fundraising) and Events Manager

The Committee for a Responsible Federal Budget is a nonpartisan, non-profit organization committed to educating the public about issues with significant fiscal policy impact. Our bipartisan leadership comprises some of the nation's leading budget experts, including many past heads of the House and Senate Budget Committees, the Congressional Budget Office, the Office of Management and Budget, and the Government Accountability Office.

The Development and Events Manager will assist the Development team in the creation and execution of systems to track, plan, and coordinate development outreach for current major donors and prospects. They will be responsible for working to help develop a system of tracking VIP communications for the President of the Committee along with other Development team members. This position will write executive-level communications, oversee gift tracking, and, over time, cultivate a portfolio of annual donors. Additionally, they will be responsible for planning development-focused and signature events, including salon dinners, briefing meetings, and conferences.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Assist the Senior Director of Development and Events in the achievement of yearly fundraising attainment, cultivation, and discovery goals
  • Implement tracking systems to ensure effective and efficient personalized communications
  • Manage signature events, including the creation of timelines, staffing plans, and RFPs
  • Plan and execute development events, including briefing meetings and salon dinners
  • Assist in drafting development correspondence
  • Oversee gift tracking and stewardship, including gift acknowledgements
  • Organize development database records

Qualifications

Ideal candidates will have the following qualifications:

  • 2 to 3 years of experience, including previous roles in both development and events
  • Strong project management skills with a proven ability to achieve results and ability to prioritize work to meet multiple deadlines
  • Experience with managing VIP communications for leadership
  • Excellent verbal and written communications skills with an attention to detail
  • Experience helping to plan events
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced team environment
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office 365
  • Constant Contact or DonorPerfect experience is a plus
  • A bachelor’s degree or higher
