Citizen Data seeks a qualified and experienced Quantitative Research Analyst to join our existing research team. Critical tasks will include assisting senior researchers on creating partner deliverables, analyzing results from our public opinion survey product, preparing and sampling voter data, and managing essential tools and platforms needed for data gathering.

The ideal candidate will have a background in data analysis, marketing, social science, or political science. On behalf of Citizen partners, he or she will produce various data analysis outputs and work under the supervision of the research team and Chief Product Officer to deliver impactful work to our clients.

Role Responsibilities

  • Assist in drafting/designing survey questions based on partner requirements
  • Expertise in the use of Qualtrics, assist in programming surveys for the field
  • Manage essential platforms used by the research team for gathering data produced by surveys
  • Assist in post-survey weighting while monitoring demographic quotas
  • Support in creation of client deliverables such as presentations, spreadsheets, and analysis
  • Under the direction of senior researchers conduct statistical analysis of findings
  • Interface with the data science group and coordinate data queries, models, and storage
  • Support senior researchers in the development of Citizen’s broader research strategy roadmap
  • Collaborate with Citizen’s Account and Partner Success Managers to deliver products to and support Citizen clients
  • Bachelor’s Degree in social science, technology, engineering, mathematics, computer science, marketing, economics, political science, or a related technical discipline; Master’s Degree a plus
  • 1-3 years experience in a professional setting with conducting and applying research, marketing, social science, or data science; work with nonprofits, political, and/or public policy organizations a plus but not required
  • Familiarity with US politics/current events in US politics.
  • Demonstrated experience in formulating research questions, designing studies, and seeing them through to completion.
  • Solid grasp of statistical methods and concepts
  • Comfortable with a wide variety of data sources, including databases, and standard data formats
  • A problem solver with great data intuition
  • Ability to be partner-facing with excellent writing and presentation skills and ability to help others understand implications of analyses
  • Works quickly and with excellent time management skills
  • Demonstrated commitment to using data for the public interest

Nice to Have

  • Basic to intermediate coding skills in a language such as SQL, R, Stata, or Python
  • Comfortable with large datasets
  • An eye for visuals and infographics
  • Experience working with voter and/or consumer files
  • Knows how to find and tell a story with the data
  • Experience or familiarity using industry standard platforms such as Qualtrics

Salary Range: $60,000 - $70,000
