The Project Assistant is an entry-level role that is primarily administrative but provides staff in the position with the opportunity to grow in several ways. This role is the foundation for either a project manager role or research role depending on interest and need. The Project Assistant will provide primary support through:
- Manage calendar and scheduling for the Human Capital team.
- Provide support for internal team meetings, including taking notes, drafting agendas, and disseminating meeting summaries.
- Manage project data entry and analytics of team publications, press hits, and speaking engagements, among others.
- Support the Chief of Staff with all finance and accounting matters, including contract management, invoicing, reimbursements, and credit card reports.
- Support the Chief of Staff with managing the intern program, which includes overseeing the interview process, onboarding, and intern workloads.
- Support the Chief of Staff to plan internal and external events and draft periodic newsletters. Responsibilities may also include preparing pre-meeting and post meeting read ahead materials, developing run-of-show documents, coordinating with participants, booking conference rooms, preparing materials, etc.
- Provide direct support to help project teams, including coordinating workplans, managing grant deadlines, coordinating with other teams, etc.
- Provide research assistance to the team as needed.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS
- 1-2 years of relevant administrative experience or a bachelor’s degree is required.
- Ability to multi-task and effectively manage one’s time and responsibilities.
- Experience with and knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite.
- The ability to communicate professionally and effectively with high-level public officials and other stakeholders is essential.
- Strong interpersonal and problem-solving skills.
- Works well independently, and as part of a team; experience working with a dynamic and energetic group of professionals is preferred.
- Strong research and writing skills.
- Interest in social policy, education policy, or economic policy. Direct experience is a plus.
